Hello world! + 50 facts about myself

Hello there!

My name is Mia and I shall be your tour-guide on this utterly gripping journey (we hope) that will be my blog. I usually find it hard to speak my mind and communicate with people, so hopefully this should help combat my fear of communication.

(I HOPE.)

SO. I thought I would combine an introduction with the '50 facts about myself' tag that's been floating around YouTube.

1. My full name is Mia Rose Goddard.
2. I've been on this planet for 19 years, and have overall contributed very little to the world.
3. I love singing. I find it a really helpful way to channel and control my emotions and express how I feel.
4. I'm a musical theatre enthusiast. I'm in an am dram group the New Venture Players, and have done four shows with them, including Parade and Sweeney Todd which were the best experiences of my life (despite my characters getting raped in both).
5. I hate giving presentations. Which is kind of ironic, as I'd happily sing a song in front of a million people - but give me a presentation to do in front of ten people and I fall to pieces. It's ridiculous.
6. I'm addicted to dresses. I have thirty. THIRTY. It's getting out of hand. May need rehab.
7. I'm not a hat person. The only thing i can get away with is my beanie hat, and only if my hair is behaving.
8. I buy books and never read them. It's a pretty bad habit, because I love reading books, but I'm always distracted by Twitter/Tumblr/YouTube. Ugh. Technology.
9. I'm a Disney nerd. I am obsessed with Disney. The animation is so beautiful, particularly anything Glen Keane does. I've got a huge art crush on him.
10. I have a cow hat. He's called Greg, after Greg Proops from Whose Line is it Anyway? Me and an old school friend Chloe had a huge obsession with WLiiA around age 13. It was very awkward.
11. I'm married to a baby. My wife, Katie, aptly nicknamed Babyface, has the face of a baby.
12. Katy Perry is my girl crush. I'm a little bit in love with her. She's flawless and beautiful and I love her.
13. I have to have painted nails at all times. Otherwise, my nails turn really brittle and thin and peel and snap all over the place and it ain't pretty. Recently discovered Rimmel's matte top coat, and I'm obsessed.
14. I feel naked without lipstick. Without lipstick, my top lip seems to completely disappear when I smile, and I don't like it, so I always wear lipstick if I leave the house, even if it's nude.
15. I can't work properly unless my hair is up. Usually in a topknot. I don't like the feeling of hair on the back of my neck and shoulders, I find it distracting when I'm trying to draw/work.
16.  I LOVE FOOD. Seriously. Anyone who knows me knows I love my food. Particularly my mum's lasagne.
17.  I'm an impulse buyer. Especially when I don't have the money to spend.I can't resist a good deal. Particularly the 3 for 2 offer currently on at Boots.
18. I'm a model. Of sorts. I've become a regular model on the Art Foundation course I'm currently on, which is immensely fun. I've stood on the top of Twmbarlwm in 6 inch heels in a raincloud, perched in a tree as an owl and smothered my face in cake, all in the name of art. (totally didn't enjoy every minute of it).
19. I'm a ballet dancer. Including pointe work, which is unbelievably satisfying and exhilarating. Currently grade 5, but also learning grade 8 for the practice. (Teacher logic, huh?)
20. I wish I had curly hair. It's so much more exciting than straight hair. I'm always curling my hair to try and get rid of my bland straight hair.
21. I've never broken a bone. True story. Although my friend Annie broke her ankle once and I always used to play on her crutches. Crutches were always the most exciting thing at school.
22. I hated school. Particularly sixth form. I went to an all girls school (which was in itself a nightmare) and being surrounded by bitchiness at such a young age definitely did me no favours. They were so controlling, we literally had no freedom; they were particularly manipulative and controlling in sixth form, which were the worst two years of my life. There was no freedom to do anything, and I was constantly forced to interact with the most mindlessly corrupt and despicable people in the world. Utterly loathed sixth form.
23. I love 1940s/50s fashion. Circle skirts, petticoats, stockings and garter belts, red lipstick, soft curls, unf. I LOVE IT.
24. I am a proud Ravenclaw. Harry Potter was the biggest influence on my childhood. I grew up with the books, and there will always be magic in my heart and an adventure in my soul.
25. I love Puzzle Pirates. I don't care if you think it's stupid and childish, I am an unashamed Puzzle Pirates fan. It's so quirky and charmingly adorable. HATERS GON' HATE.
26. Glinda is my dream role. I saw Wicked when I was 14 and I instantly fell in love with Glinda. She is so misunderstood. Plus she has the pretty costumes.
27. I love to lounge. I don't understand people who put on normal clothes unnecessarily. If I'm not leaving the house, why should I bother? Why make extra laundry when I could lounge in my pyjamas all day?
28. I am ridiculously pale. Finding foundation to match my skin is an absolute nightmare. The palest shade is ALWAYS too dark and I end up looking like Ross after he gets an '8'. OH that's another thing.
29. I've seen every single episode of Friends. I love Friends. It's so quotable, and there is a Friends reference for every moment in life.
30. I love mugs. I have way too many mugs. I just love novelty mugs. My favourite mug has a vintage print of a Fab ice cream advert. It's my go-to mug. (LOLWHAT.)
31. I'm scared of being forgotten. Quite a deep one here, but my dad left when I was five, my best friend Annie moved to Australia when I was 10, Bethan moved to Windsor in Year 8, Amy changed schools for sixth form, and Harri is now in Manchester. I'm always the one being left behind, and I'm scared that people will forget me and lose interest in keeping in contact with me. Ultimately, I feel like I'm losing the people I care about the most, and as a result, it's making new friendships difficult to initiate, as I guess I have lost confidence in my ability to be a friend.
32. I want to work as a Disney Princess in Disneyland. One day I'm going to move to Anaheim and be a Princess in Disneyland. I would love dressing up everyday and inhabiting the characters I grew up with, and watching kids' dreams come true. THAT'S what magic is.
33.  I know all the words to Baby Got Back. I have done since the age of 9. Yeah.
34. I love The Sims. I own every single Sims 1+2 Expansion pack, and about half of the Sims 3 ones. I'm lagging behind slightly, but they're SO BLOODY EXPENSIVE. FO REALZ. I'm one of those people who likes making the sims, and just stick them in a box with random furniture. Haven't got the patience for making nice houses. Except in Sims 1. It was simple enough in Sims 1 for me to have the patience with architecture.
35. I like ironing. As strange as that is, I find ironing really therapeutic and relaxing, especially when I'm upset.
36. I only like Fanta Lemon if it's from a can. Can't be dealing with that bottled crap.
37. I have terrible eyesight. I have a huge astigmatism in my left eye, which causes it to turn in and is really awkward and unsightly. I'm so self conscious about my eyes, because I'm so aware of it turning in when I'm reading things, as I'm long sighted. I hate it.
38. My nickname is Drama Llama. Because I'm a drama queen, apparently. What gave you that idea? *hair toss*
39. I despise mushrooms. They are foul. It's like chewing tyres. Disgusting.
40. I have a signed copy of The Fault in our Stars by John Green. Boom, bitches.
41. I love Tomb Raider. But I'm terrified of the animals you have to kill. They just come charging at you and bite your face off! I'm also not good at being stealthy in games. I get excited and kill everyone. Oops.
42. I am petrified of spiders. They are so fucking disgusting. Ew.
43. I want to be an animator. Ultimately, I want to work for Disney. A tad ambitious, but what is life without foolism?
44. I'm pretty good at doing accents. Particularly New Zealand, Yorkshire and Southern.
45. I always lose bobby pins. Miss Glamorazzi's bobby pin fairy is real. REAL I TELL YOU.
46. I'm finally moving out next year. Me and a couple of friends are (hopefully) getting a house next year when we all start Animation at university in September, and I could not be more excited. I will finally be independent. Success!
47. I bruise like Ross Geller. Like a peach.
48. The Reichenbach Fall didn't make me cry. You can call me heartless if you want. The Doomsday episode of Dr Who was far more emotional. Although I have been crying at almost every episode of Season 2 of Once Upon A Time. Maybe I'm a tad overemotional at the moment.
49. I spent Christmas alone in 2009. With a dog. At my then boyfriend's house. In Newcastle. It was as tragically shit as it sounds.
50. I like knitting. While surrounded by my twenty imaginary cats. Premature Old Lady Syndrome alert.

So there you have it! 50 facts about little old me to kick off my brand spanking new blog.

See you soon!

Mia x
